Will a tankless unit really never run out of hot water?+
It will not run out, but it can run short, and the difference matters. A basement corner that suits a tank may be far from any exterior wall, and venting requirements are stricter than for the old atmospheric flue. Are electric tankless heaters an option in Cumberland County?+
For a single fixture or remote bathroom, often yes. For a whole house in our climate, rarely, because of our winter inlet temperature. Lifting 50-degree water at whole-house flow rates electrically demands amperage most residential services here cannot supply without a panel upgrade, which usually costs more than it saves.
